APMT Tangier is currently looking for an ambitious, passionate and seasoned Head of Stakeholders & Labors Relations with high interest in driving high standard Operational performance through business & social stability and join APM Terminals as a place to be.

 

Poste :

The head of S&LR is a key executive position who leads the development and implementation of the terminal labor and employee relation strategy to promote a positive work environment and a cooperative and productive working relationship with union leadership and employees in collaboration with senior business leaders and the Group labor relations strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborate with the Business Partner community (Leadership Team) to co-create a Labor relations vision, strategy and plan, considering the regulatory framework, risk profile, compliance level and business drivers.
  • Challenge and support business decisions with analytical rigor, insights and judgments to ensure social perspectives are regarded when decisions are made. 
  • Act as a catalyst in the employer-union relationship so there is synchronized thinking and an understanding of each other’s’ requirements, challenges and priorities.
  • Proactively participate as lead representative of the leadership team in labor relation negotiations, interpretation and administration of CLA agreements, and administration of grievance procedures.
  • Provides company-wide strategy regarding disciplinary procedures and assure that actions taken are equitable to the employee and legally sound to protect the company should legal action arise.
  • Provide labor relations guidance and gives advice to business leadership on the implications of decisions, strategies, and change efforts, serving as the Center of Expertise for labor relations best practices and tools.
  • Influence the contractor’s relations’ management and ensure alignment within the group code of conduct values and local labor law requirements.
  • Ensure a high-quality service that impacts social stability in the terminal (transportation, canteen, medical services…).
  • Provide and manages internal and external communications strategy for the terminal in support of the existing business strategies while promoting a positive image of the Company to the community and government organizations.
  • Build and develop relationships with the key government decision makers (political and non-political), key local and national representatives, including media personnel, relevant industry and trade associations to create opportunities for keeping the Company and its services in front of the public and the trade.
  • Build a strong team by attracting & retaining talent, leading and coaching the team to deliver through a business partnering model fostering interdepartmental collaboration.

Profil recherché :


Experience/language skills required : 

  • Bachelor Degree in Labor Laws is required or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ work experience in human resources and/or labour relations roles with a minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in a similar position. 
  • Requires at least 7 years of public affairs experience in private industry, preferably in shipping or transportation industry.
  • Experience in dealing with Unions; Authorities and Politicians.
  • Experience in Finance – with emphasis on the impact of negotiations with Unions and Customers.
  • Knowledge of Port laws, Terminal strategies, Terminal Stakeholders, etc.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of local & national customs, traditions, and practices.
  • Must have a working knowledge of public relations/public affairs protocols, practices, and methods.
  • Working language is English but ability to communicate verbally in Arabic and French is needed.
